Is there an option C: have the doctor meld the demon and I together? Then we’ll get out real quick. And probably get killed by our allies later. I only ask because I’m seeing no advantage to either of the choices.

If we run, we loose the doctor. Well, better chance of the demon killing him. We need the doctor. We took a chance using him as a shield, but we can’t take the chance that the demon will kill him.
